Seagull injuries no barrier

WITH third spot up for grabs Tooradin Agrade had a lot to play for in the clash with Devon Meadows on the weekend.
The injurydepleted Seagulls welcomed Holly Booth and Megan Ellott to the lineup. Holly Booth let a touch of nerves creep in early but quickly settled into a stunning goaling performance for her first full game in the Agrade side. Kate Lynch played a brilliant support role, acting as a third feeder to Booth along with Sara Drain, who was her dashing self on the wing.
Shona Wells displayed a more concerted defensive game, pulling in some quality intercepts. Rachel Splatt and Tenneale Wells were resilient to the end in defence giving the Devon Meadows goalers little joy inside their goal circle. Stacey McConnell was the standout with a string of intercepts through the midcourt and completely nullifying the wing attack in a bestoncourt performance. Tooradin was runaway winner by 41 goals, cementing third spot.
Awards: Rimfire Glass BOC Stacey McConnell, Financial Services coaches award Holly Booth, Players’ most damaging player Shona Wells.
Score: Tooradin 57 d Devon Meadows 16.

BGRADE

Tooradin again stepped out with an injury and illnessriddled side, but the team went hard from the start and played some lovely netball. The inclusion of Fran Pecora and Alison Noonan proved handy: both goalers stepped up to play outstanding games with great movement and finished off with some accurate shooting.
Stacey MacLeod played another spectacular game in the defence end taking intercept after intercept and starving the Devon Meadows goalers. Carla Hyde was a welcome inclusion in the last quarter because of injury and covered the defensive ring beautifully.
Sharp movement and play in the midcourt, especially from Stacey Edwards, made this a smart and wellworked game for her. Tooradin managed to come away with a 59goal win.
Awards: BOC Stacey Edwards and Stacey MacLeod, Damager Stacey MacLeod.
Score: Tooradin 76 d Devon Meadows 17.
