Schhol aid over the miles

IN November 2014, St Margaret’s School teacher Deborah Kerry travelled to Cambodia to teach English to Cambodian students.
The school provides a free education service at no cost to these students. The school is supported by an aid organisation based in Victoria called Growing Cambodia.
Parents are encouraged to send their children to school as the WFP (World Food Program) will provide each family with a bag of rice, however, it costs US $45 per child to supply a uniform for each child.
Library bags, workbooks and pens are not supplied and parents cannot afford to purchase them.
The Year 8 and 9 students at St Margaret’s School are helping these children by cutting out donated fabric and sewing library bags during their lunchtime.
These bags will be sent to the three schools supported by the Growing Cambodia Aid organisation, in the Siem Reap area of Cambodia.
