Frosty honour for premiers

Brad Kingsbury
WELLknown football identity and former star Dandenong fullforward Jim ‘Frosty’ Miller will present the premiership medals and cup to the winning Casey Cardinia league team.
Miller was an exciting and highflying spearhead during the 1970s and late 1960s for the Redlegs and also spent two seasons trying his luck with Carlton in the then VFL.
He held the record as the VFA’s leading goalkicker on six of seven occasions between 1968 and 1974, only missing the award in 1972.
He booted 100 goals in a season twice in his career, scoring 106 goals in 1969 and 108 majors in 1973.
He was also a member of the Redlegs 1971 premiership team and is fifth on the alltime VFA/VFL goalkicking list with 883 goals from 183 games at an average of 4.8 goals per game.
The current VFL goalkicking award is named the Frosty Miller Medal in his honour.
Miller was born and bred in Garfield and now lives in Hallam and takes a keen interest in football throughout the Casey Cardinia area.
His nomination as the presenter on Saturday is an acknowledgment of Miller’s contribution to football throughout the district.
