Pool push on a roll

THE push for a pool at Emerald is making waves.
Cardinia Shire Council on Friday announced plans to undertake an aquatics feasibility study for the Emerald area.
The move follows lobbying by residents who recently presented council a petition carrying over 1000 signatures supporting a pool in the hills area.
Council officers said a study brief had been prepared and consultants would be engaged in October.
It is planned to complete the study over the summer period while swimming is at the forefront of people’s minds.
The study will include an analysis of existing aquatic catchments through the hills region, a review of aquatic needs and an analysis of cost implications of aquatic facilities.
Community groups and the wider community will be invited to contribute information to the study and will also be consulted on the findings and the recommendations.
