A MAN spent a night lost in Bunyip State Park last week.
The 31yearold Footscray man was found safe and well by a Parks Victoria ranger on Thursday morning beside his vehicle, which he had crashed on Wednesday afternoon.
The man spent the night in the forest after his car rolled while driving along Pines Track.
Pakenham Senior Sergeant Phil Jury told the Gazette: “He was fit and healthy. There were no worries about his condition.”
Police from Emerald, Pakenham and Bunyip, together with the air wing, search and rescue, Parks Victoria and the State Emergency Service, led the search effort.
They began looking in the vicinity of Black Snake Creek Road and East Beenak Road on Wednesday night but were unable to locate the man or his vehicle.
Police had been notified of the man’s plight after he called 000 about 3.50 pm on Wednesday advising that he had crashed his Toyota Land Cruiser in an unknown location.
The man had told operators he did not require an ambulance and that the last sign he remembered passing was Black Snake Creek Road.
The search resumed early on Thursday morning and the man was found just after 10 am.
