UPDATE: The problems have extended to the Dandenong area as well. Services between Pakenham and Dandenong on the Pakenham line have been suspended with bus replacements scheduled.

THE Monday morning commute for Pakenham and Berwick area train travellers is set to be even more difficult with buses replacing trains.
Metro Trains just announced – as of 6.55am Monday morning – the Pakenham line between Pakenham and Dandenong – affecting Pakenham, Cardinia Road, Officer, Beaconsfield, Berwick, Narre Warren, Hallam and Dandenong stations – has been suspended due to a track fault affecting signals in the Pakenham area.Metro Trains website said it is in the process of organising bus replacement services and encourages commuters to seek other means of transport.
“We are currently in the process of arranging alternative replacement bus transport,” Metro’s website said. “Please consider alternative travel options where possible – please listen for announcements or speak to Metro customer service staff for more information.”
The Cranbourne line is also suffering minor delays of up to 26 minutes due to a track fault affecting signals in the Dandenong area.
It hasn’t been an easy week for commuters with Thursday morning’s services suspended entirely after a false alarm triggered an evacuation of the Metro Trains’ command centre.
