Garfield ladies’ great start

GARFIELD Bowling Club ladies have had a great start to the pennant season.
In the first round the divisionthree team had an excellent win against Traralgon.
They won two of the three rinks played.
Scores were: Judy Prentice, Pat Marriott, Joan Donovan and Fay Carmichael won 34 shot to 13.
Lyn Oliver, Bev Sainsbery, Daisy Lia and Maureen Lamport also won 27 to 22.75.
Rose Shaw, Eleanor Lee, Joan Garvey and Margaret Charles lost 25 to 30.
This week the Garfield ladies are at home to Traralgon RSL.

MEN’S PENNANT

The men have had three practice pennant matches against Longwarry, Cockatoo and Yallourn North, with good results and good experience for some of the newer bowlers.
Next and final practice match is against Neerim District next Saturday at Garfield.
Men’s pennant practice is each Thursday and all players wanting to play pennant should attend.

WEDNESDAY TRIPLES

These have been a huge success with all rinks full.
Next Wednesday (October 11) the triples start at Pakenham and the weekly rotation is back in place between Pakenham and Garfield.
