Cobras strike a high note

IN a run feast, Merinda Park’s Agrade batsmen unleashed a top score of 340 against Pakenham UpperToomuc (PUT) on Saturday.
John Atwell continued his fine start to the season scoring 69 and Brett Whittingham made a welcome return with 91 before being given out lbw.
The recent return of Grant Mills continues to pay dividends with the lefthander scoring 54 and a final wicket stand of 40 between Shannon Mathers with 28 and Adrian Slater 19 not out helped the cause.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:B GRADE

With captain Russell Dunn out due to injury, the Cobras did well with the bat to score 9/212 against Pakenham UpperToomuc.
Heath Gibson scored a fine 51, Rod Morrison 40 and Jarrod Armitage with 32.
This was the best score of the year for Bgrade and with a good bowling attack, hope to register their second win of the season.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:D GRADE

The Cobras amassed a big score of 322 against Pakenham UpperToomuc on the fast Lyndhurst Secondary College ground.
Wicketkeeper, Andrew Syddall was in good form with 95, opener Mark Elliott with 79 to follow his century the previous week and Shaun Hughes with a hardhitting 58.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:E GRADE

The only senior Cobra team in real trouble in this round of matches is Egrade after scoring only 102 against Pakenham UpperToomuc.
In a low run scoring day, (only 106 made by both teams) the Cobras are in a poor position.
Only four players made double figures with captain Paul Humphrey making 22, Craig Robertson top scoring with 25, Robert Strang 15 and Michael McCalman 11.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:F GRADE

The Cobras had another good win, this time over Pakenham, after bowling it out for 155, thanks to 3/26 from Robert Clarke.
Also amongst the wickets were Stan Pongracic with 2/23 and Wayne Bruce with 2/30.
The Cobras then made 9/206 with Chad McKie making 37, Gerard Healy 35 and David Field 28.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 17

The Cobras are in a great position after making 1/254 and only losing one wicket in the process.
Nathan Beaver top scored with 52 retired, Matthew Grayson 51 retired and both James LaughlinGlen and Michael Theodoridis scoring 50 retired.

Playing Clyde at home, the Cobras had their host 6/155 at stumps.
Matthew Pongracic bowled well taking 2/28 with David Spencer 1/11, Jake Feenstra with 1/19, Jason Pongracic with 1/21, with 1 for 7 from 3 overs.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 13

Playing Pakenham Gold at Donnelly Reserve, the Cobras did well with the bat scoring 8/186 with Jason Pongracic scoring 49 not out from 39 balls including seven fours.
Lesley Howell also scored quickly with 27 not out from 40 balls. The 8th wicket partnership yielded 95 runs that included Jason Pongracic, Lesley Howell and 26 retired from Sakila Tennakoon.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 11

Playing Devon Meadows White, the Cobras had a hit first making their highest score of the season with 88 and Devon Meadows also played well scoring 102.
Both teams played good cricket with Cobra players Caleb Boswell and Lachlan Dalton playing for Devon Meadows.
Ramith Satharasinghe with some big hitting making 11 including two nice boundaries and Kyle Salter with 17 including one boundary.
In the field, Dinelka Balasuriya took two wickets in not only his first over, but also the first over of the innings.
Ashleigh Little, playing his first game of the season, took two wickets with a wicket each to Ramith Satharasinghe (also a runout) and Kyle Salter.
A great start to the game with the second innings on this week.
