Christmas cheer at races

Brad Kingsbury
PAKENHAM Racing Club will host its annual Christmas race meeting this Friday with an eightrace afternoon program finishing at 5.25pm, making the day a good way to finish off the working week.
There are already more than 1100 people booked into corporate marquee packages and the day’s theme will be about enjoying the yuletide cheer.
The first race will jump at 1.05pm and locally trained horses nominated include Tuskegee Airman for John Leek, John Gunning’s Very Elusive and track lover Pleasure Cruiser for Joy Bourke.
Sponsors of the day include Delfin Lakeside Pakenham, CGE Hire, Asset Flooring and R J Tyrrell & Co with admission set at $12 for adults and $9 concession.
This will be the final race meeting for 2006 with the next events being the New Year’s Day picnic races and then the Pakenham Gazette Kid’s Day Out on Sunday, 21 January.
