PARKS or recreation areas looking a little worse for wear or feeling the effects of the windy winter can be renewed under funding from Cardinia Shire Council.
Council will match funding on a dollarfordollar basis and will help to buy plants, stakes, tree guards and mulch.
Council has encouraged residents to pick a site used by their local community and bring together neighbours to breathe new life into reserves and streetscapes.
Preference will be given to projects that involve community groups, relate to facilities used by the general public and are in an area generally lacking in vegetation.
Residents are invited to participate by contacting 5945 4310 for an application form and returning it to council by Friday, 28 October.
Projects must be located within Cardinia shire and should be finished by June 2006.
