Maroons show tons of talent

A MAIDEN century of 158 by Nyora Bgrade’s Nick Fairbank and a massive 156 by Brenton Hackett highlighted their side’s massive 455 for the loss of only four wickets against Pakenham UpperToomuc on Saturday.
The Maroons won the toss and elected to bat and started badly, loosing coach Mark Pearse for four with the score on 16 in the fifth over.
Next to go was Nick Fairbank but not before combining with Brenton Hackett for a 312run partnership.
Andrew Collis then came to the crease and smashed a quick 70 with Kelvin Toogood a quickfire 38 not out.

Nyora won the toss and batted first against Pakenham.
Young guns Daniel Morrison and Billy Hayes batted brilliantly to have a record opening stand for Dgrade of 189.
Daniel made his maiden century and continuing on to make 145. He was well supported by Billy Hayes who made 64 and Andrew Cavigan was back in form with a hardhitting 45.
Although undermanned, Pakenham’s bowlers toiled manfully with M. Chilcott the best, taking 7/95.
Nyora declared at 9/307 and at stumps Pakenham were 1/16. Ryan McIntosh being the wicket taker.

Nyora 3/107 lost to KilcundaBass 6/117.
In a oneday game, Nyora won the toss and elected to bat.
The innings started disastrously loosing Billy Hayes, run out without facing a ball.
Jake Hackett continued his fine form with the bat and retired on 28 not out.
Aaron Cockram also made a fine 24, Aaron Ford a steady 19, Jacob Bohmer 13 and Luke Tagliaferro made a quick 11.
At the end of the allotted 25 overs, Nyora made 3/107.
KilcundaBass started steadily and lost the first wicket in the ninth over with the score on 25.
The next wickets fell with the score on 87, 90, 105 and the last two wickets on 115 with new player Sam Williams being on a hat trick but missing out.
Wicket takers for Nyora were Jake Hackett (3), Sam Williams (2) and Jacob Bohmer (1).
Aaron Cockram took two catches and Luke Tagliaferro one.

Nyora 7/67 lost to Devon Meadows 6/96
Playing a oneday game, Nyora batted first and lost early wickets with Gavin Hackett holding one end up and retiring on 15.
Jay Breen (6) and Jade Ellams (9) had a good partnership in the middle order to help their team to 67 off the full 25 overs.
With Nyora’s turn to bowl, Devon Meadows had to work hard for its runs.
Some good fielding by Jaye Breen and Aiden Simmons resulting in two run outs.
Devon Meadows passed Nyora’s score in the 19th over.
Best of the bowlers were Jade Ellams (1/7), Mason Lambert (1/8) and Jack Strybosch (1/9).
