SPIRIT of the Past, a collection of sepia photographs by the late Nola HamiltonStone, is on display at the Civic Centre Art Space in Narre Warren until 30 October.
The exhibition features a collection of sepia photographs portraying Ms HamiltonStone’s memories, feelings and knowledge of Australian heritage.
Casey manager arts and leisure Robyn Bowen said the exhibition was especially important and moving because Ms HamiltonStone died earlier this year.
Ms Bowen said Spirit of the Past celebrated Ms HamiltonStone’s passion for photography, particularly what she called nostalgic or heritage photography.
“The exhibition also features several handcoloured photographs, an art form she practised to recreate an authentic period feel for her images,” Ms Bowen said.
