Post office has a red letter day

BEACONSFIELD Licensed Post Office has been recognised as the best nonmetropolitan post office in Australia for the second year running.
The business was awarded an Australia Post National Excellence Award to recognise the efforts of husbandandwife team Keith and Leonie Norman.
The Normans have run the standalone business for twoandahalf years, supported by family and three casual staff.
They have made substantial changes to the business and Mr Norman is thrilled that their hard work has paid off.
“We have expanded our services to include a third counter terminal now, which means we are able to provide more efficient service for our customers, and we are also installing another 100 post office boxes to accommodate demand,” he said.
The store has been moved, refitted and its size has been increased sixfold.
“We have received some really positive feedback from our customers, who are extremely pleased with our service,” Mr Norman said.
“Customers have said they are more likely to come back to our store now, as we are much more accessible and provide ample parking, making it easier and more enjoyable to shop here.”
LPOs make up twothirds of Australia Post’s retail outlets and are a big contributor to the infrastructure of small business in Australia.
