Close one for Cobras

IT was so near and yet so far for Merinda Park’s Agrade side that went down in its oneday game to Clyde by one run on Saturday.
Cobra veteran Brett Armitage did his best to keep the Cobras in the game with 62 not out. Tailender Adrian Slater also did well to score 31 in his partnership with Armitage. Best of the Cobra bowlers in Clyde’s innings was Shannon Mathers with 3/40 from seven overs with new player Clayton Riddle taking 2/42 from eight overs.

The Cobras suffered a big loss to Nyora by 144 runs. The only positives for Merinda Park were Jarrod Armitage with 27, Michael Theodoridis with 16 and 4/41 from eight overs with Tony Clarke picking up 3/35 from eight overs.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:D GRADE

The Cobras had a big win over Nar Nar Goon by 69 runs, thanks to a maiden century from Shaun Hughes who finishing the day on 112 not out with John Cuthbertson making 45 opener Mark Elliott 30 and captain John Proctor 28 not out. The match started well for the Cobras with Pat Graham taking 3/27 from eight overs with two wickets each to Mark Beecham and John Cuthbertson.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:E GRADE

The Cobras had a good win over Officer by 98 runs with Andrew Martin making 50 not out and taking 2/10 from three overs.
Michael McCalman top scored with 53, captain Paul Humphrey and Dion Olszewski both scored 35 and Chad McKie 29.
Paul Humphrey also had a good day with the ball taking 3/13 from three overs and Robert Strang with 3/18 from seven overs.
Jace Field picked up the one wicket and Matthew Pongracic bowled well.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 17

The Cobras continued their good form with a win over KilcundaBass. Andrew Martin top scored with 42 not out, Matthew Grayson 29 not out, Ben Sonnet 27 retired, Josh Colomer 25 retired and Michael Theodoridis with 25. The wickets were shared with one each to James LaughlinGlen, Michael Theodoridis, Josh Colomer, Brent Vowles and Ben Sonnet.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 15 RED

The Cobras lost to Tooradin by 71 runs in their oneday fixture. Anthony Burr top scored with 25 not out. Daniel McCalman and Tim Shepherdson both reached retirement score of 18 and 17 respectively.
In the field, Stuart Martin picked up 2/29 from three overs with a wicket each to Anthony Burr, Tim Shepherdson and Anton Dias taking his first wicket for the Cobras.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 15 WHITE

Playing Catani, the Cobras lost a close one by two runs. Jarrod Armitage with 33 not out, David Spencer with 44 not out and Michael Blackburn with 18 retired, were the best of the batsman. Jarrod Armitage also had a good day with the ball taking 3/14 from four overs with one wicket apiece for Ryan Little and Simon Spencer.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 13

Taking on Clyde, the Cobras had a good win by 30 runs with Sanan Wimalagunaratna making 18 retired, Ryan Little 15 retired, Josh Prudden 15 not out and Les Howell 14. Josh Prudden also did well with the ball taking 3/5 from three overs.
Sakila Tennakoon with 2/11 from three overs and a wicket each to Sanan Wimalagunaratna, Ryan Little, Kian LaughlinGlen and Katrina Hughes.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 11

Playing Clyde, with both teams still having players away, the Cobras scored 33 runs from 20 overs while Clyde made 74 from their 20 overs. Caleb Boswell did well making 31 runs in total. He also picked up two catches wicketkeeping with Lachlan Dalton taking a catch at square leg. The wicket takers were Blake Glassborow with two and one each to Brady Boswell and James Jordan.
