Pakenham set to show teeth

THE West Gippsland Cricket Association (WGCA) competition returns to twoday fixtures this weekend for round eight.
It will now be two day games for the remainder of the season that will please most players and tipsters.
The PakenhamPUT match is likely to be the closest of the round and these keen rivals are sure to have another tight contest.
However the Lions appear to be showing more improvement and consistency and should prevail on their home ground.
Tooradin is currently performing well, but will be tested by their visit to the swamp to play Catani. Lionel Sexton and Paul Govaars are both capable bowlers for the Blues, but Tooradin’s overall depth should see it gain the points in a testing contest.
Officer host Devon Meadows that need to win to keep its finals hopes alive.
The Panthers will trouble the ladder leaders at times, but the Bullants should have too much bite for their feisty opponents at the Starling Road ground.
In B grade, the main game is at Bass where the local Sharks host the impressive Nyora side.
The young stars at Nyora bristle with talent, but the steady and experienced KilcundaBass team should prevail at home.
Cardinia has been the surprise packet in Bgrade, but the Bulls will find the visiting Nar Nar GoonMaryknoll team to be too strong. Round eight Agrade tips with the likely winners shown in capitals.
OFFICER v Devon Meadows, KOOWEERUP v Merinda Park, Clyde v CARDINIA, Catani v TOORADIN, Emerald v BEACONSFIELD, PAKENHAM v Pakenham UpperToomuc.
