Stableford stars at Beaconhills

AN excellent 43 Stableford points gave Peter Buff a win at Beaconhills Country Golf Club on the Old course on Saturday.
The win took his handicap into single figures, from 10 to eight.
The larger Lakes course field saw three grade winners.
Lou Skantzos won Agrade with 42 points, Matt Coates won Bgrade with the best score of the day, 44 points, and Andrew Rainbow’s 41 points won him Cgrade.
After warming up by playing 18 holes on the Old course in the morning, Chris Broom won the junior ninehole competition with 32 nett in the afternoon.

These were played on the Lakes course.
On Wednesday, Graeme Martin was the winner of the Stableford competition with 42 points. Peter Wilson was runnerup with 41 points.
On Thursday, Mark Pilav’s handicap of 11 continues downward as he captured Agrade with 44 points, while Keith Barnes’ 40 points saw him win on a countback.

Thirtysix Beaconhills players recently returned from a weekend trip to NorthEast Victoria.
The Beaconhills winners at Myrtleford Golf Club were Gloria Angwin with 41 points and Andy Biddle with 42, however the Myrtleford home side won the challenge trophy with an average score of 35.5 to 31.5.
On Sunday at Bright Golf Club a couple of heavy showers of rain accompanied Elaine Newman and partner’s win in the South African fourball with 67 points.
The winner of the twoday overall prize was Eric Wilson with 74 points.
