SMOKE and noise seeped through the rain as a delighted crowd watched the Tooradin Tractor Pull on Saturday.
Despite the drizzle, about 4500 people turned up at Rutter Park and stayed through to the end of the annual Tooradin event.
Tractor Pull Association of Tooradin president Mark Milligan said the rain was a welcome relief to most people after recent dry weather.
He said the crowd thoroughly enjoyed the day and was more than happy to stay for the show.
“It was a big success, even though we got washed out in the end,” Mr Milligan said.
They managed to get about twothirds of the way through the tractor events.
Also on offer were children’s rides, amusements and live bands, although fireworks were cancelled because of the rain.
