WGCA tips round 9

THE winner of the dreaded wooden spoon will be clearer after this round as Pakenham UpperToomuc (PUT) hosts Emerald at Pakenham Upper.
The two bottom teams will be desperate to win and hold a place in Agrade for next season and it’s the Yabbies who should prevail after recording an impressive win at Pakenham in round eight.
Tooradin will be anxious to return to the winner’s list after narrowly missing out at Catani in round eight, but it faces a formidable task in upsetting Cardinia when the competent Bulls travel to the Seagulls’ nest.
However Tooradin’s form has been slightly more impressive and the Seagulls should soar narrowly to victory at home.
Beaconsfield hosts the resurgent Catani team that triumphed against Tooradin last week.
The Blues have enormously strong batting potential, but the wellbalanced home side will be too strong in its own den.
In Bgrade, the main game will be at Upper Beaconsfield where the Maroons host Nyora.
Both teams are playing well, but Upper Beaconsfield’s batting and bowling is peaking at the right end of the season and the Maroons should win a close encounter.
Agrade roundnine tips with the likely winners in capitals are: Merinda Park v OFFICER, TOORADIN v Cardinia, BEACONSFIELD v Catani, PAKENHAM UPPERTOOMUC v Emerald, KOOWEERUP v Clyde and DEVON MEADOWS v Pakenham.
