CLOWNING around was all in a day’s schoolwork for students at Pakenham’s Beaconhills college last week.
Students in years nine to 12 learnt how to ride unicycles, juggle, hulahoop and perform balancing feats as part of a circus workshop at the college.
The workshop, held by West Side Circus, helped drama and dance students develop skills for their VCE studies. Students will showcase their new skills at a performance for the college’s silver jubilee celebrations to be held in March.
Beaconhills head of performing arts Hayley Sandpearl said the students had a challenging, but exciting time.
“The program helped students to build confidence and gave them the chance to partake in activities they wouldn’t normally experience in everyday life,” she said.
