IN Clyde Agrade’s last home game on turf for the season, Tooradin won the toss and batted on a wicket with a tinge of green.
The Clyde bowlers had a huge task in the oppressive conditions and restricted the runs early.
Daniel Waite took the first wicket in the 26th over with the score at 1/40.
Troy TharleAdams took a wicket just before tea, the Seagulls going into the break at 2/83 after 38 overs.
The run rate picked after tea before Shane Wenster took the key wickets of Johnstone and Hughes.
Tooradin was 4/177 in the 62nd over and looked like building a big total.
Waite again broke a partnership and took another wicket the next over, with Callum O’Hare chipping in with a wicket.
The Seagulls were 7/217 with eight overs left and chasing quick runs.
O’Hare and Waite took another wicket each and at stumps Tooradin was 9/257.
The Cougars fielded well in the heat and Waite was rewarded for his efforts with 4/50 from 14 overs.
O’Hare toiled hard to take 2/71 from 21 overs and Shane Webster took 2/22 from his 14 overs.
C GRADE
Clyde headed to Kooweerup, won the toss and elected to bat, but the decision looked to have backfired after the loss of two early wickets.
Glen Tuckwell was joined by the inform Peter O’Hare and together they put on 71 runs before O’Hare was dismissed for 46, after an innings which included nine boundaries.
Tuckwell was dismissed not much later for an excellent 44 and Clyde went into tea with score 5/121.
Steve Houlihan continued his run spree, and with Tom Sinnema put on a 105run partnership while battling heat exhaustion.
Houlihan was eventually dismissed for 69, including nine fours, while Sinnema continued on to record his highest score of 66.
The Cougar tail then offer little resistance and the team finished all out for 262.
The Demons then faced four overs and finished at 0/15.
D GRADE
Hosting Cardinia, Clyde lost the toss and bowled first.
Aaron Adams took a wicket with his first ball and Ben Lackmann took two quick wickets as Clyde had Cardinia at 3/16.
An 86run partnership wrested the game back in the Bulls’ favour before Adams took wickets in consecutive overs and captain Ritchie Bertram chipped in with another.
Tea was taken with the score at 6/130, and Adams continued his great bowling with another two wickets in consecutive overs.
Some aggressive late batting saw the Bulls add some quick runs before they were dismissed for 192 from 39 overs.
Clyde then got off to a steady start to be 1/41 before a massive collapse saw the team dismissed for 88 runs in 21 overs.
Chris Hymas offered some resistance with 17, Matt Sinnema made 16 and Adams 15, but the loss of the last five wickets for just nine runs was disappointing.
F GRADE
Clyde made the journey to Gembrook and sent the Brookers in to bat.
The Clyde bowlers performed well, restricting Gembrook to 85, which included an unbeaten 52 by Hill.
Brenden DeRozario returned the impressive figures of 4/7 from his five overs, older brother Duane took 2/34 and Mick Bishop 2/19.
Clyde then batted and Darren Tanner blazed his usual innings, making 28 in three overs.
Duane DeRozario made a quick 21 before Clyde lost five quick wickets to be struggling at 6/76.
Ken Marshall (16 not out) and Chris Behrendorf (15 not out) guided the Cougars past the score, and stumps were called at 6/105 in the 20th over.
UNDER 15
The Cubs played Catani at home and elected to bat.
Good batting saw the team make the competitive total of 125.
Nick Sadler made his first 30 not out for the season, Joel Avard made 29, Mitch Kemp 16 and Marcus Miles made an entertaining 12.
UNDER 13
Playing against Pakenham Blue, the game was stopped after 13 overs due to lightning and muchneeded rain.
The players came off with the score at 1/49 with Brayden Kennedy on 19 and Ethan Mclean on 16.
