Rewarding workmanlike efforts

DO it once and do it well is the theme for the Rotary Club of Berwick 2007 vocational awards.
The annual awards recognise achievements of outstanding people in their professions. Awards coordinator Laurie Gordyn said the program enabled business managers to help employees achieve the goal of job satisfaction and public recognition.
“Participating businesses promote the vocational award theme of ‘do it once — do it well’ through their organisation and nominate employees worthy of recognition, not only within the organisation, but the wider community.
“Nominees for awards are presented with a trophy in recognition of their achievements at a Rotary presentation dinner.”
Mr Gordyn said award categories were for pride of workmanship, outstanding apprentice, young achiever, vocational excellence, adult education achiever, U3A, and small business.
“The objectives are to promote vocational service, to encourage pride of workmanship in all vocations and to provide employers with an opportunity to recognize employees who display the qualities worthy of an award.
“The awards encourage favourable employeremployee relationships and a sense of community pride in individual achievement and an opportunity for Rotary to be involved in the community, particularly the business community.
Nomination forms can be downloaded from www.rotaryberwick.org/vocationalservice or contact Laurie on 0419 503 146.
