A SENSORY garden will be established at the Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick.
This was driven forward when Bunnings Fountain Gate donated plants. People with a disability are helping to create garden in partnership with the Narre Community Learning Centre.
Casey mayor Colin Butler said he was pleased that Bunnings chose to invest in this community project by donating $200 in plants plus advice for establishing the garden.
“It is well recognised that time spent in the natural environment such as sensory gardens can provide a range of health benefits including reduced stress and lowered blood pressure,” he said.
Further donations in plants and building materials for the garden are being sought.
