EVEN though suffering a bad loss against Cardinia on Saturday, Pakenham UpperToomuc (PUT) will stay in Agrade next season, due to results of other games.
Defending 376 against Cardinia, PUT began the day knowing that a win would secure a berth in Agrade next season.
However, the Bulls hadn’t read the Yabby script and attacked the lacklustre bowling and sloppy fielding with gusto to register a mammoth 8/446 at the close.
B GRADE
Requiring 192 runs to beat top side Nar Nar Goon, the Yabbies were bowled out for 120.
Seven batsmen got starts, reaching double figures without being able to go on with it.
However, this was a creditable team effort against very good opposition.

PUT hosted Cranbourne Meadows at Syme Rd and put the visitors in. The Rebels slipped to 3/18 and despite the tail wagging slightly, could only manage 132 all out.
Brett Maddocks hit 68 as the Yabbies reached 8/228, a lead of 96 on the first innings.
Putting the Rebels in again, Maddocks completed a fine match by snaring 3/2 off two overs and Frank Scartuchio 3/16 off nine as PUT gained outright points to secure a home semifinal.

After PUT’s original opponents had to forfeit the match, WGCA fixtures guru Jason Viney arranged a friendly match against Cranbourne Meadows, enabling 22 players to get on the park.
Nick Black (50) and under15 players Jackson Fromhold (52) and Jamie Somers (50) all retired unbeaten, as the Yabbies posted 6/312 after 35 overs.
The Rebels were all out for 80, with wickets shared around.
Nick Black (2/12), Damian Garth (2/10) and Ben Spicer (2/5) all bowled well.
UNDER 17
Needing 148 for the points at Beaconsfield, the Yabbies lost an early wicket, but Chris Smith and Michael Wake steadied the ship with unbeaten half centuries.
The next wickets fell with the score on 140 and the job was almost done.
Chris Cardona batted well for 30 not out and Jake Abel scored 21 to take the total to 5/197 at the close and the Yabbies now look forward to finals action.
