Bright season for Brookers

ALTHOUGH failing to overhaul Kooweerup’s firstinnings total of 396, Gembrook’s Cgrade side played well to knock up a respectable 285 on Saturday.
Better performers were Andrew Hilder (61), Anthony Williams (55) and Dean Allcott (45 notout).
The Brookers were in the finals’ race, but just missed the cut in a good season.

E GRADE

Resuming at 0/17 chasing Gembrook’s 222, Emerald was in early trouble at 4/72, but stubborn lowerorder resistance overhauled the score with three overs to spare and eight wickets down.
Gembrook’s better bowlers were Mark Costa (2/52) ,Jeremy Everitt (2/72) and Andrew Shipp (1/16).
This was seen as a disappointing loss with the finals starting this week.

F GRADE

Gembrook batted first against Upper Beaconsfield at home and scored 6/208 off 35 overs.
R. Batten and D. Hill both made 50 retired and were well supported by J. Maddocks who got 34.
Upper Beaconsfield then batted and was bowled out for 132.
Best bowlers were K. O’Brien (3/9), L. Thiele (2/25) and J. Maddocks (1/7).
This was a good win to end the season.
