CITYof Casey mayor Neil Lucas has called for a council report on the establishment of large sheds in Ware Place, Brisbane Street, Berwick, and in Narre Warren North.
Cr Lucas asked that the report and briefing to councillors cover the circumstances that allowed such large sheds to be built in residential areas to the detriment of neighbouring properties.
He also asked that the report record what action the council took in relation to the issue and responses that were received from the Minister for Planning or his officers.
Cr Lucas said a person could build a nice home and plan a nice view.
“Then people will be sitting in their lounge room with a view and the next day they are looking at the wall of a large shed,” Cr Lucas said.
“I have looked at these situations and found that all sheds are legal.
“The issue has been raised before and I want a review to see how these things continue to happen,” he said.
