CHANGES to water restrictions from April 1 will not affect watering schedules for local ovals.
Both Cardinia Shire Council and the City of Casey have been advised by local water authority South East Water that new restrictions mean no changes to the program of one watering in four sports grounds which has already been established.
Cardinia Shire spokesman Doug Evans said the council had been advised those sporting reserves which have already been exempted will not have further restrictions.
Exempt Cardinia grounds include Bunyip, Nar Nar Goon, Upper Beaconsfield, Chandler in Emerald and Gembrook.
Thirteen grounds throughout the City of Casey were granted exemptions.
The city’s manager of works and operations, Alex Micheli, said water conservation plans for these grounds had been submitted to South East Water, which was satisfied with the saving being made at these grounds.
Mr Micheli said at this stage everything was progressing towards all Casey grounds being available to clubs for winter sports by April 1.
Under the new Stage 3A water restrictions, the hours for watering household gardens have been reduced.
