THE Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League (MPNFL) announced the appointment of Steven Pallas to the new role of chief executive last week.
Pallas was selected from a quality field of applicants in a process (involving the Victorian Country Football League) that took six weeks to complete.
Pallas, 37, has lived most of his life on the Mornington Peninsula, playing with the Tyabb Football Club and currently coaching Mount Martha Cricket Club.
His experience and achievements in business management, professional skills, sporting knowledge and understanding of the local community were identified as assets for the future development of the league.
The current administration team of Ian Benson, Sue Jones and Leah Jones will remain with the MPNFL, with Benson becoming operations manager.
It is expected that Pallas will take up the position in April.
