A ROAD linking two major areas in Pakenham is open to traffic.
Residents and business operators are finding it easier to get around town after Webster Way was completed last month.
Webster Way links Bald Hill Road to McGregor Road.
Cardinia Shire mayor Bill Pearson said the new link had the potential to reduce congestion on McGregor Road by providing an alternative route for traffic coming from the north of Pakenham to the bypass.
“The new road provides improved access to the adjoining residential estates and also opens up the access to the light industrial development at the north end of Webster Way,” he said.
“The road will also provide access to the proposed regional tennis centre planned for a site on Webster Way.”
The $900,000 road development was funded by the council through the Pakenham township developer contributions plan.
The road also fronts an eight-hectare Commonwealth protected grasslands park.
