Woman hurt in horse fall

A WOMAN from the rural township of Cardinia is nursing a swollen head after a horse fell on her.
Advanced life support paramedics were called to the 61-year-old’s Ballarto Road property at 10.30am on Tuesday 13 January.
Paramedic Kendall Brown said the woman was sitting on a chair when they arrived.
“The woman had been with the vet, who was tending to her horse,” Mr Brown said.
“The horse apparently reared, and when it landed, it hit the side of the woman’s head. She suffered some swelling to the side of her head and a small cut.”
Paramedics cleaned and dressed the woman’s wound before taking her to Casey Hospital where she was later discharged.
