Woman hurt in car crash

A THREE-CAR collision in Emerald on Sunday night 15 February has left a young woman in hospital with serious injuries.
The incident occurred at 4.25pm and involved two vehicles travelling outbound towards Cockatoo and one vehicle travelling towards Emerald on Belgrave-Gembrook Road.
Leading Senior Constable Duncan Bartley, of Emerald Police, said the car coming towards Emerald, driven by a 28-year-old Narre Warren man with his six-year-old son as passenger, sideswiped the first car heading the other way.
It then collided head-on with the second car, driven by a 20-year-old Avonsleigh woman. She was taken to The Alfred hospital with leg injuries, internal injuries and a suspected broken hip.
The driver of the first car, a 45-year-old Menzies Creek woman, received minor injuries. The man was taken to Dandenong Hospital with minor injuries. His son was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Sen Const Bartley said the man would be interviewed in due course.
He asked for anyone who might have witnessed the collision to contact Emerald Police Station on 5968 4422.
