MORE than 40 family members helped Allan and June Richards celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary on Saturday at a barbecue at their eldest daughter Jeanette’s home in Pakenham.
The Richards met at a dance at Poowong and were married on 19 February 1949 at Loch Church of England.
They have lived in Pakenham for 32 years.
They farmed at Nyora before buying their first dairy farm at Catani in 1963.
When they retired to Pakenham in 1977, they took up lawn bowls, and both are members of Kooweerup Bowling Club.
Allan and June have four children, Jeanette, Bruce, Lorraine, and Chris, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
