Cobra strikes with a ton

AN excellent 103 not-out by Merinda Park A-grade’s Brett Armitage led his side to a competitive 7/279 against Nar Nar Goon on Saturday.
The Cobras travelled to Nar Nar Goon, lost the toss and was asked to bat. The opening pair Jarrod Armitage and Chad McKie got the side off to a good start before the latter was out for a well made 21.
Captain Travis Canavan was the next to go with the score on 86 and another five runs was added before Armitage was out for 51. A 73-run fourth-wicket partnership between Daniel McCalman and Brett Armitage was broken when the former was out for 32.

The Cobras hosted Nar Nar Goon and after a long day in the field, bowled the opposition out in the 80th over for 323.
Brendan Tapner and Matt Boswell both bowled well, picking three wickets a piece. Young wicketkeeper Dylon Cuthbertson kept well, claiming two catches and a run-out.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz: C GRADE

Merinda Park hosted Beaconsfield and with a reshuffled batting order still managed to post the formidable score of 283 off 55.2 overs.
Brett Whittingham was the standout with bat scoring 111. He received good support from Ron Hughes (39) and David Rowe (29). Having to bowl 10 overs Josh Colomer picked up two wickets to have the opposition 2/26 at stumps.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz: D GRADE

The Cobras played Beaconsfield and batted first posting 188 off their 70 overs.
Doug Marshall was the top scorer with 42 with good support from Mark Elliot, 39.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz: F GRADE

Merinda Park played Pakenham Upper-Toomuc (PUT) and fielded first, having the opposition 2/310 off their 35 overs with Trewin Cox and R. Ferguson both taking a wicket.
In reply the Cobras were all out in the 32nd over for 111, with Phil Kiernan top scoring with 24.
