All the fun of the circus

By Lia Bichel
THE STARDUST circus has rolled out its big tent for its first-ever appearance in Pakenham.
The circus features two hours of traditional entertainment with acrobats, a flying trapeze, clowns, lions, monkeys, and performing ponies.
Thirty-two performers, many of whom are family, travel throughout Australia with two semi-trailers, 16 caravans, and 16 trucks, but this is the first year the group has taken its show to Victoria.
Mr Adams said every act in the show was entertaining, but many were impressed by the youngest performer, a three-year-old boy, as well as seven-year-old Shae West.
“Shae is one of the only people in the world who can do these tricks,” he said.
Tricks include doing flips from a teeter onto her uncle’s shoulders while he stands on a large round ball, or sitting on an acrobat’s shoulders while they flip in unison and land on another performer’s shoulders.
Mr Adams said many people also enjoyed watching the animals perform and vowed that all animals were cared for appropriately.
Shows will be at 7pm on Thursdays and Fridays, 4pm and 7pm on Saturdays, and 11am on Sundays until 15 March.
