FIVE out of six Beaconsfield Junior Football Club teams that played in recent grand finals brought home premiership flags.
There were celebrations as the under16 division 1, under15, under12, under11 and under10 teams were all victorious. The under 13s played well but could not produce the clean sweep and were defeated by two goals.
Celebrations continued well into the night as around 400 players and supporters enjoyed the spoils of victory with a barbecue at the Beaconsfield clubrooms.
President Brian McPhie said the success was the culmination of a great year at the club.
Beaconsfield Junior Football Club was also awarded the bestconductedclub prize in four age groups by the Dandenong and District Junior Football League.
“The feeling of community spirit, the support and friendship of parents, as well as the enthusiasm and sportsmanship of our young players, is integral to the extremely successful year we’ve had,” Mr McPhie said.
“Our onfield successes are a byproduct of a very dedicated committee and a coaching staff that works tirelessly to provide our young players with the best opportunity to develop their skills and selfconfidence,” he said.
Mr McPhie thanked the senior club president, Dave Van Lambaart, for his support during the finals preparation and acknowledged the seniors players and coaching staff for their encouragement.
Ross Freer from the club’s major sponsor, Harris Freer Toyota of Berwick, was among those to congratulate the club on a successful season.
