MPNFL Nepean League others

FRANKSTON Bombers’ star recruits Ryan and Nathan Lonie booted five goals between them and were among the best players in their round-one debut of the Nepean League competition on Saturday, signalling that they will be big assets to the club and the league in 2009.
The Bombers won the opening-round encounter against Crib Point by 72 points in a good dominant start to the season. Other results on the day saw Rye record a 10-point victory over Red Hill in an entertaining game and Rosebud thump competition debutants Hastings by 71 points in a disappointing contest.
There were only three games contested in the first round with five sides starting their season with a bye.
