School streets ahead for fun

A DAY filled with fun celebrated Pakenham Consolidated School students’ involvement with the Cardinia Shire Council’s Streets Ahead program.
The fun day, held last week, was a celebration of the first term topic ‘Me, My School and Pakenham’.
The students have been actively engaged with the school and the community by walking, cycling and taking public transport as well as identifying a number of key places in their neighbourhood.
A number of agencies were involved in the fun day including Windermere, Connections, Gordon Care, Cardinia Shire and Pakenham Police.
Many Pakenham businesses donated food and equipment for the event.
Students, staff and the local community enjoyed the day getting their faces painted, plunging PE teacher Adam Wight in the dunking machine, speeding on the go-karts, jumping in the jumping castle, getting their hair sprayed a different colour, patting the animals in the animal farm, riding their bikes, learning football and soccer skills.
