A KOOWEERUP man rode a ride-on mower through the streets to beat the town’s holiday traffic woes on Good Friday.
The man, who didn’t want to disclose his name, rode the mower from one side of Kooweerup to the other after surveying the traffic situation.
And he made it in one piece – fortunately, considering he was returning the mower to a relative.
“I thought to myself, by the time I get out of here I would be better not driving,” the man said.
“It was just as quick to ride the mower there.”
It took the man 15 minutes to get to his destination, much quicker than the 35 to 40 minutes he estimated it would’ve taken if he got behind the wheel.
“The traffic was shocking – from the Royal Hotel and up Station Street and Rossiter Road,” he said.
“It was probably the worst I have seen it.”
