Principal for new school

OFFICER’S first Catholic Primary School has appointed its foundation principal.
Ken Gale, currently principal of St Ita’s in Drouin, will head the school when it opens next year.
In his 30 years in the Catholic teaching system, Mr Gale has held positions such as principal, deputy principal, religious education co-ordinator, curriculum co-ordinator and physical education co-ordinator in four schools within the Archdiocese of Melbourne and two within the Diocese of Sale.
“I’m very excited about my new role at St Brigid’s,” Mr Gale said.
“My goal is to help develop a really strong community.”
St Brigid’s Catholic Primary is the third primary school of St Michael’s Parish and another feeder school of St Francis Xavier College, Beaconsfield.
St Brigid’s Primary is being constructed on Bayview Road and will cater for families living in Officer, Beaconsfield, Upper Beaconsfield and Guy’s Hill.
It is set to open for the 2010 school year.
The anticipated starting enrolment is about 150 students from grades prep to six.
Information packs about St Brigid’s Primary are now available. Interested families should call Principal of St Michael’s Primary Michael Hanney on 9707 1600.
