Top players led path to victory

Daniel Borninkhof (Narre Warren)
Started off slowly, but got better as the game went on and as a burst player in the midfield.
Used his explosive pace to advantage and made the most of his possessions after adjusting to the pace of the game.
Lee Boyle (Narre Warren)
Dominated every WGLFL full-forward who dared to take him on in the key defensive post.
Had a taste of interleague football last year, but looked like he belonged at that level this year. Very good game.
Michael Collins (Narre Warren)
Nothing fazes ‘Collo’ and he played a top-class game in the midfield, to just be pipped for best afield honours by Chris Irving from Seaford.
Spent some time in the ruck and made some outstanding clearances.
Daniel Fry (Pakenham)
The big bloke was on the end of some magnificent ball supply and did not let his team-mates down, booting 6.2 at full-forward.
Marked strongly and created a contest on every occasion.
Jared Goldsack (Pakenham)
Goldsack played a great game in the midfield and also had stints in the ruck when Donny Epa needed a rest.
Was mentioned as among the Sharks’ best on most vote cards from the day.
Ryan Hendy (Doveton)
Proved himself as a legitimate league star with a sensational performance as an elusive key in attack.
Kicked 6.4 and had a hand in many scoring plays to be among the Sharks best across the day.
Must be considered for VCFL state selection.
Daniel Rigg (Devon Meadows)
The ultimate team man.
Rigg, at 30, the oldest player in the side, was a winning target at centre half-forward, booting one goal and setting up Hendy and Fry on numerous occasions.
Did a lot of hard work in the packs.
Luke Walker (Pakenham)
‘Tex’ played his usual brand of exciting football, punctuated with the flashes of brilliance that caught the eyes of Collingwood recruiters last season. Was rotated on and off the bench quite often, but made an impact as expected.
Beau Wheeler (Pakenham)
Was a late interleague call-up due to injury and played a serviceable game without starring. Spent several decent stints on the pine, but made the most of his chances.
