TINY footprints in a bed of sand are proof that Southern Brown Bandicoots are weaving in and out of specialised tunnels at Bandicoot Corner, Bayles.
The 3.5 hectare reserve is home to the endangered species and a 1.8 metre fence was erected in January 2008 to protect them and other wildlife from predators such as foxes, cats and dogs. A series of tunnels was also installed along the bottom of the fence to let the bandicoots through.
