Seniors savour the experience

BERWICK Senior Citizens’ meetings continue to attract the usual members, despite the club’s cook being still away. Seems that the spirit of our club is still alive and well.
After the usual opening, when the illness of our cook Martin was mentioned, a happy birthday greeting was given to Elizabeth Sturgeon and to Berrill Elston. The door prizes went to Gladys Obeth and Helen Matheson. The raffles were won by Mary Sparks and Elizabeth Sturgeon. The meat tray went to Bessie Gould, and the voucher was won by Sheila Carter. The meeting then went on to enjoy bingo. The winners were Elizabeth Sturgeon (didn’t she have a day), David and Wilma Clark, Lorna Bird, Monica Miller, Erica Albert, Nora Todd, Alice Haynes, June Murphy (twice) and Very Giles.
Remember our annual meeting on Friday 17 July. We hope to have our new solicitor, Damien Conway, who has taken over from Peter Shacklock, come along and chair our meeting.
All inquiries to Lorna Bird, phone 9707 2618.
