FISHERIES Victoria showed it meant business last week when three abalone poachers were fined a total of $6000 for taking the marine delicacy illegally.
They were caught near Fish Creek with 230 black-lipped abalone and had their nice little sideline washed away.
Just last month the department warned out of season anglers they could be nicked for taking trout.
It is only a case of giving the fish, the marine life, and the anglers who stick to the rules a fair go.
