THE par event at Drouin Golf Club was contested by 119 players on Saturday, with Phil Adams (7) the star of the day, parring the course on his way to winning A Grade with a score of +7.
A Grade runnerup was Stephen Bethune with +3 followed by Mark Wootton and Rex Amey both finishing on +2.
B Grade was won by T. O’Dea (16) with a score of +3. Runnerup was George Connor +2 on a countback from Mike Waring, John Nelson, Neill Williams and Shane McKiernan.
The C Grade winner with +4 was Stuart Low (21).
Henk VanDeuren also scored +4 but was on the wrong side of the countback. Greg Patterson and Graham Rawson were next both on +1.
Nearest the pin: Second Brett Dessent, fifth (pro pin) Graham Austin, 14th Michael Herman, 17th Graham Rawson. Balls down the line were awarded to scores of +1 and above on a countback and the CCR was 71.
A good field of 120 players contested the twoperson Stableford Aggregate competition last Wednesday, 27 December.
The winning pair with a combined total of 75 stableford points was Laurie Pyle and Michael Sullivan. Runnersup were Marty Dalziel and John Fusinato with a total of 74 on a countback from the father and son team of Glenn and Tom Flowers.
John and Wayne Robbins also kept it in the family and came home in next place with a score of 72.
Nearest the pin: Second Michael Sullivan, fifth (pro pin) Rex Amey. Balls down the line went to scores of 71 and above.
A total of 42 players contested the Senior Nine Hole competition on Thursday, 28 December with Graeme Brenchley winning with 21 points. Runnerup was Bruce Horskins 20 while Peter Browne, Alex Madden, Rolf Loebert and Peter Andreasen returned with 19 points each in equal third place.
This Saturday is the January Monthly Medal.
