Berwick blitzed

BERWICK Netball Club’s Agrade team failed to match it with a strong Pakenham side and went down by 62 goals on Saturday.
Scores Berwick 14 lost to Pakenham 76.

B GRADE

Berwick began slowly with Pakenham scoring the opening four goals of the match.
Berwick quickly regrouped and scores were level at quarter time.
Pakenham began the second quarter strongly and went to the main break six goals up.
Jenny Randle came on at wing defence cutting down the attackers’ leads, while Virginia Hester and Lisa Cotela moved the ball through the centre court to feed goalers Belinda Walshe and Sharon Bahn.
Berwick worked hard in the third quarter to lead it by one goal at threequarter time.
The lead changed several times during the last quarter and defenders Mischelle Manson and Brodie Williams held strong for Berwick to come away with a win.
Scores: Berwick 40 d Pakenham 38.

15 AND UNDER

Berwick was unable to find any rhythm and consistency and Pakenham was able to cut down its attacking drives and limit its scoring opportunities.
In the last quarter the players changed positions with the goalers going to defence and defenders going to goals.
Scores: Pakenham 28 d Berwick 14.

13 AND UNDER

Wet rainy weather greeted the players with Pakenham adapting to the conditions early.Berwick regrouped and played a strong consistent game, despite injuries.
Scores: Pakenham 27 d Berwick 10.

CLUB NOTES

Berwick’s 13andunder and 15andunder teams have made the finals and the club encourages all senior players to come and support the juniors.
The junior presentation will be held on 9 September, 6.30pm at the football clubrooms. Players are asked to let their coaches know the numbers attending by 3 September.
The senior presentation will be held on 23 September.
