Crowds flock to cool pool

GARFIELD residents are flocking to keep cool by the pool as the hot weather continues into the new year.
The Garfield Swimming Pool offers something for everybody with an outdoor 33 metre pool catering for adults and teenagers and outdoor shaded pools for children and toddlers.
Upgraded facilities and a barbecue area offer everybody who visits a cool way to spend a hot day.
And with the temperature only set to rise, pool manager Meredith Bowers says that the current opening hours of 1pm until 7pm will increase as more people attempt to escape the heat.
