Foursomes pair to the fore

IT was four in a row for Andrew Conn and Ann Felgate when they won the final of the mixed foursomes at Beaconhills Country Golf Club on Sunday.
Played on the Old course, the pair won with a gross score of 162 gross for the two rounds.
Runnersup in the gross were fatheranddaughter team Steve and Kim Murray, last year’s best nett winners.
Winners of the nett for 2006 were John and Jean Wheatley, following up their impressive 66 in the first round with a 68.
Roy Solomon and Marilyn Ford won the best gross on the day with 84 on a countback.
The remainder of the field played Par.
Richard Metherell and Ross Brown both scored +5, but Richard was declared the winner on a countback.

It was strokemonthly medal on the Old course on Saturday, 2 December.
Bruce Edwards (handicap 16) won Bgrade with nett 68 and Wayne Davey (22) was the Cgrade winner with nett 65.
However it was Peter Buff (10), the Agrade winner, who collected the monthly medal with a nett 64.
The best gross was won on a countback by Joe Marsiglio, with 73 off the stick.
Glenn Miller (17) was successful in the smaller competition on the Lakes course, with nett 67.
The junior ninehole winner on the day was Chris Broom with nett 33.

Competitions were played on the Lakes.
On Tuesday, Peter Versteege (11) won the day with 46 Stableford points to runnerup Lindsay Martin (14) with 43 points.
Thursday’s competition winners were – Agrade: Phil Read (13) 43 points (on a countback) and Bgrade: Frank Unsworth (29) 41 points.

Wednesday was the playing of the rescheduled Week of Golf event.
The 27Hole Open, sponsored by Integrated Health, was won by Laura Griffin (handicap four) with 113 gross to runnerup Danie Myers of Huntingdale.
Sally Kunz had a successful day, being the Agrade winner of the 18hole concurrent Stableford event with 37 points, the 27hole best nett winner and also winning the Grandmother’s Trophy.
Helen Lange, the Bgrade winner also won the competition of the day with 38 points.
Heather Hamilton was the best third nine winner with 34 nett and Karen Pritchard’s 105 nett saw her the runnerup in the 27holes nett.
Danie Myers (Huntingdale), Jean Wheatley, Gloria Minehan and Nicki Charman (Beaconhills) and Fleur Philip (Sorrento) all won nearest the pins.
Jean Wheatley also won the Bgrade longest drive, while Ann Felgate secured Agrade.
