Garfield bowled over

GARFIELD Bowls Club ladies suffered a reversal of form in their pennant match against Traralgon RSL last Tuesday.
The scores were Judy Prentice’s team lost 16 to 31, Rose Shaw’s team lost 19 to 26 and Lyn Oliver’s team also lost 18 to 21.
Garfield ladies begin their Saturday pennant this Saturday and still require players, experienced or novice, to play twobowl triples. The first match is against Boolarra.

Men’s pennant begins this Saturday with division two at home against Morwell Club.
Division 6 (2) plays Warragul (4) at Warragul and division 6 (3) plays Longwarry at Longwarry.
The final practice match was played last Saturday against Neerim Districts and Garfield had a bowling lesson from the visitors.
Please note for the men, there is a sheet on the board in the foyer of the club for players to notify the selectors of their inability to play in any match during the season.
Bowlers are asked that when they know that they will not be available to enter their names on the appropriate date(s).
A Garfield team won the triples at Pakenham on Wednesday.
Alex Mentiplay, Geoff Gaskell and Frank Prins won just ahead of another Garfield team led by Reg Mattingley.
