LIBERAL candidate for Narre Warren North and Edrington Ward councillor Mick Morland has announced he will not attend council meetings during the official election campaign.
Cr Morland was granted leave for the two meetings leading up to the 25 November poll.
He said it was generally understood that candidates should not have the advantage of debating at council level during the crucial part of the campaign.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford congratulated Cr Morland and wished him well. River Gum Ward councillor Wayne Smith said: “But we expect you will be back at council.”
