One point decides Superules

BEACONSFIELD Superules thirddivision side caused a major upset by defeating the secondplaced CarrumPatterson Lakes by one point.
Carrum did not take advantage of the early breeze, poor shots on goal keeping Beaconsfield in the game. Former Superules coach Brett Dunne in his return to the club was a focal point up forward. The back line was strengthened with the inclusion of Darren Abel.
Cameron in the ruck was getting his fair share of the ball and Dunne was rewarded for his inandunder work with a free to get Beaconsfield’s first goal seven minutes into the second quarter. By halftime Beaconsfield trailed by four points.
In the third term Beaconsfield lifted and Bell put Beaconsfield in front for the first time a minute into quarter. Walsh was moved to the midfield and this paid immediate dividends with two goals. Late in the quarter Bliss managed to get the ball in the pack and somehow snaped a goal to put Beaconsfield 15 points up.
In the last quarter Carrum lifted and, while Beaconsfield could not score in the last term, the side hung on for a great win
