Rare bike stolen

By Paul Dunlop
A BIKE stolen from a Pakenham shop is one of only three of its kind in Victoria.
The women’s Giant Anthem, white and light blue in colour, was stolen after thieves broke into the Evo Cycles shop on the Princes Highway (Gazette, 15 November).
The thieves also took a silver and black men’s Giant Trance.
The two mountain bikes had a total value of $5700.
Steve Jennings of Evo Cycles said the theft was very frustrating. “It’s the first time we’ve been robbed but the second time they’ve tried,” he said.
Mr Jennings said it appeared the thieves had not been aware one of the bikes they stole was so rare.
“I think they just grabbed the first thing they could,” he said.
Police are investigating the theft.
Two people in balaclavas were seen leaving the shop in the early hours of Sunday, 12 November.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Pakenham Police on 5941 1033.
